About Anchor English
Anchor
English is a UK-based English school, English language
consultancy, and English teacher recruitment agency.
We specialise in recruiting teachers for English
teaching positions in Japan, and we are the sole
Scottish agent for Shane English School. We accept
applicants from anywhere in the UK and since our
application process is largely web-based (see below),
distance is no problem. For residents in the north
our service is especially convenient since the entire
recruitment process, from interview to visa application
to orientation, is conducted locally. In addition,
and in contrast to many other recruitment agencies,
we have direct personal knowledge of living in Japan
and teaching English with Shane in particular. This
is because all our staff have themselves previously
worked for Shane Corporation in Japan and therefore
have first-hand knowledge of the jobs for which
they recruit.
Japan is a great place to teach English but it's
a daunting step to accept a teaching job in such
a distant and relatively unknown country However,
we can give applicants a very full and personal
idea of what to expect - socially, work-wise, and
culturally - and thus help to ensure the move to
Japan is successful.
Anchor
English conducts the entire recruitment process
on behalf of Shane Corporation. Our tasks as a recruiter
are to:
- Conduct
the initial interview
- Make
the job offer
- Arrange
for a work visa
- Conduct
an orientation day
In
addition we liase with Shane Corporation Japan,
and basically attend to all the administrative
affairs associated with your trip to Japan right
up to when you board the plane. Even after you
arrive we like to maintain contact.
A
note on fees
Don't
worry, our business arrangement is with Shane
Corporation so our service is free to recruits.
Web-based
application process
To
speed up and facilitate your trip to Japan we conduct
a large proportion of the selection process using
the Internet and telephone. Nearly all documentation
will be sent and returned via email, apart from
any which requires a signature. We prefer to conduct
face-to-face interviews but in cases where a candidate
lives at a great distance a telephone interview
may be possible. However, please be aware that part
of the recruitment process involves an orientation
day at our offices. This is arranged at mutual convenience
but attendance is compulsory. Job offers are conditional
upon a personal meeting and no offer will be made
unless we are sure the candidate is suitable.
Remember,
you need to apply for positions at least 2-3
months in advance of the start date.
(Current vacancies). This is because
of the time it takes for the immigration authorities
to issue your work visa.
Why not
apply now!
